Tribute To Sahar Khodayari

Sahar khodayari, the blue girl. It’s not only a name it’s a burning fire. But they never allowed her to setup a blaze. Then extinguished……

Sports, not a single word it’s a heart pumping feeling. But now the meaning and significance of sports can be lost in our manic day-to day lives. When you see sports news or sports channel, how many of you pause and remember those who lost their lives due to their love of sports? The answer is… only a few.Because we only look into blooming flower not in the muddy roots. This not happened in the 18’s or 19’s, but in 20’s it’s makes me feel sad and humbled. Now in oneside we attain modernisation, new technologies and searches are in progress but in the other end the girl who lost her precious life because of discrimination.

If any technology comes but human never change because they are unable to think independently. Their thinking are locked in the cage made of religion, society status… Is any religion say about denial of women rights? I think No. Religion had only originated for personal emotional need, not for control society or domination. All religion only promote or comment the importance of women. But the religious organisations means humans changed it into denial.

Here a basic right to enjoy sports is violated means human rights is violated.some of the reports say that khodayari was suffering a mental illness, but the reason for her distress is rooted in the fact she was forcibly removed from the game she loved so much. The authorities in Iran regularly stop women from entering stadiums. Her story has been followed closely by Iranians around the world who used the hashtag “blue girl”- a reference  to the colour of her favourite team, Esteqlal of Tehran. It received much attention inside Iran with politicians, celebrities and footballers criticizing the ban on women entering football stadiums. After this incident the women in Iran move forward and protest against their life barriers and asking their rights. They asking for rights to non-discrimination, freedom of belief and religion, freedom of expression, degrading punishment.

She sacrificed her life for to avoid such tragedies in the future and give a new path of freedom for Iranian women. Now they will enjoyed sahar’s favorite football in that stadium without any discrimination. This is her victory. In every match we can see a blue girl with firing eyes, cheering for her team Esteqlal of Tehran.
